Reseña del editor:
Staying Safe on our Roads is the most significant document on road safety since the 1965 publication of Ralph Nader’s Unsafe at Any Speed. Unlike Unsafe at Any Speed, which focused primarily on the hazardous features of automobiles, Staying Safe on our Roads addresses the numerous hazards associated with all aspects of our roads. This book will give you an invaluable understanding of the small margin for error on our roads and how to reduce the risks of the being involved in a traffic collision. At the age of 16, Brian Denton rolled his car and was thrown from his vehicle, sustaining serious but not life-impairing injuries. Thus, at a young age, he learned the harsh realities of driving, where an error can quickly result in irreversible and potentially devastating consequences. Since then, Denton has become increasingly aware of the hazards that are inherent in the design of our roads and motor vehicles, of the often reckless behaviours of drivers and pedestrians, and of the additional hazards that arise during adverse winter conditions. He has used his retirement time and his methodical, analytical training as a professional engineer to research and write this incredibly informative book. By the conclusion of this book, you will have no doubt that staying safe on our roads and road safety education are inseparable. Staying Safe on our Roads is a must read for everyone, especially our youth.
