Inspiring the complex architecture of the whole is the powerful desire to hold together the spirit and the flesh, the Caribbean and Europe in one vision.
John Figueroa was born in Jamaica; he has held chairs in English, Education and Humanities at Universities in Africa, Puerto Rico and the West Indies. He is the author of three previous collections of poetry. He died in 1999.
