Frances Towner Giedt and Bonnie Sanders Polin, Ph.D., are the coauthors of The Joslin Diabetes Gourmet Cookbook, winner of the James Beard Award; The Joslin Diabetes Quick and Easy Cookbook; and The Joslin Diabetes Healthy Carbohydrate Cookbook. Giedt and Polin publish a monthly on-line magazine for people with diabetes (www.diabetic-lifestyle.com). Frances Towner Giedt, who has type 2 diabetes, is a food consultant and author of several other cookbooks. She lives near Dallas, Texas. Bonnie Sanders Polin, Ph.D., who has type 1 diabetes, is a retired psychologist and lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She lectures professionals on diabetes and teaches classes in healthy cooking.
