Reseña del editor:
Om Sai Ram: Passages from the Soul is a diverse collection of poems that depict a variety of touching human experiences captured with soft yet intense words that describe the human condition all over the world. In 2010, author Anjali Ashok Chainani pursued a dream of cultivating the year into something more by traveling for three months to Italy, Dominican Republic, Haiti, India and Brazil. Many of the poems in the book are inspried by and dedicated to people she met along the way, places she visited, and lessons she learned. Over all, her writings and reflections have helped develop the understanding better then before how infinitely rich and beautiful life is, in every way. The title of the book is inspired by Om Sai Ram, a mantra that originates in India and combines three powerful chants. It is used during meditation for purposes that range from relaxation of the mind and body for spiritual enlightenment. It is also used as a greeting. Om is believed to be the basic sound of the world and to contain all other sounds. Om holds paramount importance in Hinduism. The past, the present, and the future are all believed to be included in this one sound, and all that exists beyond the three forms of time is also implied in it. Om is not a word but rather an intonation, which, like music, transcends the barriers of age, race, culture and even species. Similarly, the author writes in a way that also rises above the barriers of age, race, and culture.
